Allison Interviews Podcast – PR Case Study

PR Goals
Get wide viral/sharable media coverage for episodes of the Allison Interviews Podcast within the entertainment news, pop culture news and broach news media spaces.
Allison Interviews began as a print column that ran long form celebrity interviews across media outlets, including: the Gannett/USA TODAY Network of publications, The Oklahoman, Miami Living Magazine, Deluxe Version Magazine, San Diego Entertainer, Tribute.ca, YRB Magazine, Showtime.com, The UK Express and UK Mirror, BELLA Magazine, and other publications. The column was also occasionally picked up in UK’s Hello! Magazine and U.S. celebrity weekly publication Life & Style Weekly.
The goal was to transition the column front print to a multimedia platform to include: video and audio podcast and print media coverage to draw viewers and listeners to the multimedia podcast.
Unique Challenges
Bringing the podcast off the page and into audio and video mediums, and getting established media personalities, celebrities, artists and world changers to appear on a new podcast was challenging, in addition to building a consistent audience in a crowded podcast landscape.
Strategies
We created a bridge which would start out by incorporating video and audio mediums into the print column to begin with the original medium and format intact.
We created a multimedia-rich press release format to highlight the best moments from each podcast episode, allowing media outlets to create their own news stories around quotes from each episode. We also allowed them to embed video and audio from each episode, building out a large network of top tier media outlets who funnel into the podcast’s audience with each new episode’s release.
We also distinguished the Allison Interviews Podcast by combining celebrity news, celebrity culture and entertainment with philosophical, metaphysical, and spiritual questions and conversational content.
